Hallmark Hotel Flitwick Manor has appointed Andrew Conway as its new General Manager.
Starting his career in hospitality as a kitchen hand, Andrew has since managed hotels for more than 15 years on behalf of leading hospitality brands. He is now responsible for this Grade II listed 17th Century manor house, just three miles from the M1, known for its easy connections to London and nearby Woburn Safari Park.
On his appointment, Andrew said: “I’ve only ever worked across period properties and estates, and it’s a real honour to be at the helm of Hallmark Hotel Flitwick Manor, which is so rich in historic interiors and fascinating stories.”
“As one of the few British independent hotel groups, we have real independence, which allows us far greater flexibility and the ability to react quickly to changes in the market. It also means that we can really tailor guest stays and special events in a way that some of the large chain hotels simply cannot, especially at this truly unique venue which is at the heart of Bedfordshire’s growing visitor economy.”
As part of his appointment, Andrew is focused on making the hotel’s events and exclusive use offering as competitive as possible whilst also growing awareness of the hotel’s restaurant, which has two AA rosettes. He is also set to launch a complete first for Hallmark Hotel Flitwick Manor and the entire Hallmark Hotels group.
He continued: “On Monday 26th August, my team and I are excited to welcome guests to our first ever open air cinema event, to see the much loved ‘The Greatest Showman’, enjoy fresh barbecue food and relax into a beanbag or deckchair. We have overnight packages too, for anyone who’d like to make a real event of it.”
The event will be based within the Manor’s four acres of landscaped and carefully maintained grounds, which include a walled garden, an arboretum and a lake, along with a grade I listed parish church and grass-topped grotto bridge.Share this page
