Hallmark Hotel London Croydon Aerodrome welcomes new General Manager

Hallmark Hotel London Croydon Aerodrome has appointed Nick Henry as its new General Manager.

Bringing with him over 25 years of hospitality experience, working for leading hotel groups and venues across the country, Nick has returned to the south to manage this premium hotel, which originally started welcoming Gatwick airport passengers back in the 1920s.

On his appointment, Nick said: “It’s a real honour to be at the helm of this hotel and part of the Hallmark Hotels group. As one of the few British independent hotel groups, we have real independence, which allows us far greater flexibility and the ability to react quickly to changes in the market.

“It also means that we can really tailor meetings, special events or stays in a way that some of the large chain hotels simply cannot.”

Nick’s first official role in the hotel industry was in 1994, but he credits growing up in his family’s own guest-house as his early motivation to move into hospitality.

He continued: “Customer service has always been a real priority for me and I’m delighted to say that my team really share my goals and vision. We’re all looking forward to welcoming new and familiar faces in Croydon.”

With easy access to central London, Gatwick and only 15 minutes by train from East Croydon, the hotel is ideally situated for business travellers but also families visiting nearby Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park.

The hotel itself is known for its celebration of the local area’s aeronautical history and heritage. Event suites include the ‘Flight Deck’, ‘Spitfire’, ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Amy Johnson’ – who took off from Croydon Airport in 1930 and completed the first female solo flight from England to Australia.
